Operation Christmas Child

THANK YOU  so much for supporting the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Shoebox Appeal. First some statistics -

In total 9518 boxes were collected and processed through the Biggleswade warehouse.  Of these Jane and I were able to deliver 833, of which 761 were collected from  within the Garden City ( primarily schools and churches ).

It has been a real privilege to be more involved this year and we really enjoyed meeting with all of you, and in some cases the children at the schools.  Much love clearly went into the giving.

Barbara Farquhar, who oversees the whole project in the SG area, sent us an e-mail a few days ago a part of which we repeat below

"To us a shoebox of gifts is a small thing, but, to the child who receives it, it can be a life changing experience.  They and their families are so grateful and amazed that someone so far away, who does not know them, has sent their love in a box."

Do please pass on thanks as appropriate.  We hope that you will join with us again next year, but in the meantime wish you, your families and all in your school or church a very Happy Christmas & New Year.  Some of you at the schools felt that you may benefit from a presentation at assembly time and we will be pleased to do that.
